W e l c o m e!

Here at Breaking Bread Food Pantry we supply food to people in need serving Hall, Jackson, Barrow, and Forsyth County areas. These people are low-income, fixed income, single parent, or indigent. We also supply emergency food box referrals from the Georgia Dept.Of Human Resources -Division Of Family And Children Services, Avita, and 9th District here in our community. We are the only community outreach  in our area that supplies food boxes for emergency referrals.

Breaking Bread Food Pantry was founded in the summer of 2002 in a small garage. Then we expanded into a  14 x 14 warehouse feeding about 20 families. Today the pantry is located in a warehouse that is 4800 sq. ft. and feeds over 350 families. We also have become a vital hub for other local charitable organizations that need food in Hall County and surrounding areas.

What We Do

We currently help approximatly 350 families each week including many other charitable organizations. We supply these families and organizations with food boxes, meats, produce, dairy items, pastries, and bread items. The food boxes contain canned goods, boxed goods, dairy, refrigerated items, and meat. Every week items are different  and vary depending on what the pantry recieves during our food pick-ups.

When food is recieved we have about 4 volunteers that work Monday - Friday and 15 that serve on Tuesday and Wednesdays during the food handouts. They perform regular scheduled food-pick-ups, unload trucks, seperate, organize, and shelf the items recieved. Once items are organized then they begin the process of creating food boxes with the canned and boxed goods.
