"As a mother of 6 , my home has often been home to other kids who had no place to go or to call home or someone with a drug problem who decided to get it together. Helping people has just always seemed to be a way of life.
As owner of a small construction company, money and food had been plentiful. Our grocery bill had always been at least $4oo.oo a week for as long as I can remember. Due to the economy our business started going down hill after 16 years of success. At first it was a little at a time, then we began to loose all the things we had worked hard for all those years.
I think through the years I had forgotten what it was like to be hungry until about a month ago. Looking for something to cook for supper, I opened the cabinets and there wasn't even enough for a meal, and no money for food. After a couple of weeks looking for help and being denied for one reason or another I ended up at Breaking Bread Food Pantry. It was a true blessing. I have been given food...enough to cook whole meals to feed my family. A lady there hugged me and said welcome, we are glad to help you. When I looked into her eyes, I knew she meant it.
I can't begin to say how thankful I am. I have truly been blessed through this place."
